Why You Should Not be Eating a Fiber Free Diet
There are very few situations in which a fiber free diet would be a good idea. Fiber is necessary in order to keep the bowel and digestive system running properly, and so you need to make sure that you are always getting enough of it in your diet.
There are actually two different types of fiber that can be found in food: soluble fiber and insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber is fiber that binds with fatty acids in the stomach and which prolongs stomach emptying time so that sugar is released and absorbed more slowly.
To make sure that you are not getting a fiber free diet, there are certain foods that you are going to want to eat on a regular basis. Obviously the first step to creating a free high fiber diet is going to involve you learning more about fiber and what foods have the highest fiber content.
Foods That are High in Fiber
To avoid a fiber free diet, there are a few foods in particular that you are going to want to include in your diet. Vegetables such as green beans and dark leafy vegetables, fruit skins and whole wheat products, wheat oat, corn bran, seeds and nuts, nuts, barley, flax seed, fruits such as oranges and apples, and psyllium husk are very important to include in your diet.
Supplements
To ensure that you do not have a fiber free diet, there are supplements available that you can take as well. If you find it hard to get the recommended amount of fiber each day, supplements will be a great option. There is no evidence that long term use of such supplements is harmful, and there are various different types that you can choose from.
Doctors often recommend daily fiber supplements for people with certain digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and chronic constipation.
These tips will all be very helpful in ensuring that you do not live by a fiber free diet, because you need fiber to strive. Fiber is important for all people, whether you are constipated or not, and will help your body run properly. Just make sure that if you have intestinal problems you consult your doctor before adding too many supplements to your diet, to ensure that you are not going to be putting yourself in danger.
If you have any problems once you start taking fiber supplements, let them know right away to make sure that it is not serious.
